Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences are scheduled for November 7th and 8th (Thursday / Friday). On Wednesday November 6th your child’s report will be available through your RenWeb portal at 4:00 pm. On your homepage, go to the left hand side of your screen and go to Student and then you will see Report Card on Wednesday afternoon.
The Focus of these conferences is the child’s overall development. They also afford time to share any issues or concerns you may have. Conferences should open the door to effective communication between parents and teachers. Children should not attend the conference so that the discussion may be completely open.
Conferences are twenty minute sessions. In consideration of your child’s teacher and other families, please be prompt. These non-instructional days are set aside especially for these conferences and the teachers put a lot of time and effort into preparing each child’s report. If you should miss the conference, it will not be rescheduled.
Child care is being offered for full-day ($45), for a half-day (under 5 hours $25), or for the conference only (free). You must sign up in advance to allow CMS to staff accordingly. To sign up for child care please email Jose Bolanos joseb@countrymontessori.org to let him know if you will need full-day, half-day or child care only during your conference.
Thanksgiving Feast
The Country Montessori traditional Thanksgiving feast will be Friday, November 22nd. The menu will include turkey, fresh carrots with ranch dressing, tater tots, cornbread muffins, applesauce, apple juice and a pumpkin dessert. If you think that your child would not like this menu, please send along a lunch. Otherwise, don’t bother with that lunch bag!
In preparation we are looking for some volunteers. We need 5 families to purchase and cook a 12 pound. The turkeys need to be cooked the day before and cut into bite size pieces. The turkeys can be dropped off in the morning with your child at drop-off. We need 6 families to bake an 8 pound bag of tater-tots. The tater-tots need to be baked the morning of the feast and delivered at 11am, so that they will be nice and warm for the children. Prepping and cooking time counts towards parent participation hours. You will be reimbursed for the turkeys (please submit your receipt to the office), and tater tots will be provided.
Elementary & early childhood students will be divided among the buildings to preserve the community spirit for our Thanksgiving celebration.
The elementary and early childhood children arrange the tables and chairs in each of the rooms. The tables are set with our usual place mats and glasses. The children are served buffet style with the oldest children being served first as they are better at waiting with their food until everyone is ready. Once the entire group is served we have our feast together. The staff passes around seconds, and many times third helpings. Afterwards the children clean up in the customary style with the hosts and hostesses. The elementary children take on extra jobs as well.
Now, after reading this, we are sure you are all excited and ready to come as well. Unfortunately, we cannot invite parents/ guests on this day since there is not sufficient space for all families. However, you can still get involved by letting us borrow crock pots, apple core peelers, roasting turkeys, or cooking tater tots. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanksgiving Break Child Care
CMS will be closed for Thanksgiving Break Monday November 25th through Friday November 29th. Child Care may be offered on Monday Nov. 25th and Tuesday Nov. 26th if we have a minimum of 20 students sign up for child care. If you would like to sign up please email Jose Bolanos to inform him which days you would like and if you need half-day (less than 5 hours – $25) or full day (over 5 hours – $45). Please contact Jose no later than Friday Nov. 8th if you need to sign up for child care on the 25th or 26th.
CMS Walk-a-thon
We are very excited to be hosting our annual CMS Walk-a-thon on Wednesday November 20th. The Walk-a-thon is a fun and exciting way for students and families to get involved and help support our fundraising efforts for additional school security upgrades and new technology for the computer lab.

Email and/ or Text your child’s student fundraising webpage with 10 – 20 friends and family. It’s super easy!
Post on Facebook or Twitter It’s just two clicks of a button to post. The average parent has 300 FB friends. You’ll be surprised when donations come in from distant relatives/ friends from HS/co-workers. Post and see what happens!
We will be using FundHub (Get Movin’ Fundraising) to manage all our Walk-a-thon donations. Each family will need to register their child(ren) at Get Movin’ Fund Hub, click here then select register as parent. Fill out your contact information, our school code (school identifier) is auto populated when you use the hyperlinks. Once registered you can customize your individual fundraising page, adding personalized message, pictures or a fun video. Use the Family Share option to share multiple student pages through a single message. Donations can be made by credit card directly through the student Walk-a-thon page. Check donations are also accepted and can be turned in directly to the CMS office. We hope that every family will participate and share their student pages.
