“The child has a different relation to his environment from ours… the child absorbs it. The things he sees are not just remembered; they form part of his soul. He incarnates in himself all in the world about him that his eyes see an d his ears hear.”
Dr. Maria Montessori

5th Level and Kindergarten Graduation
For our families that have CMS graduates this year, we have not forgotten or cancelled our graduation ceremonies. We want to honor and acknowledge all of them in the best possible way. We are brainstorming different options and will reach out to our families that have graduates as we know more and for your preferences.
Distant Learning
We hope all of our families are safe and healthy. We miss seeing our students during this time of physical distancing and we know that this has been difficult for many of us. We appreciate all of your support, understanding and for partnering with CMS and your teachers. It has been a collaborative effort and successful team work that has kept our students’ education going during this time. Thank you! CMS made it an immediate priority to launch distant learning quickly, as it was our goal to not disrupt our students’ educational progress and to ensure they will be prepared for the fall semester . The State Superintendent of Education has stated distance learning is “absolutely necessary given the health challenges we are facing… school for the year is not done.”
We know that everyone is wondering what the remainder of the school year, summer and the new 2020-2021 fall semester will look like at CMS. We wish we could give definitive answers to these questions at this time, but will continue with our distant learning platform for this current semester, unless things change. We are currently working on different scenarios for the summer, the new fall semester and a possible fall virus outbreak plan. Our planning will take into account all state, county and local orders and restrictions as well as the California Department of Education. The safety and health of all of our students, staff and families has been and will remain our first priority.
Country Montessori School remains committed to creating the highest quality, dynamic educational experience possible for our students and will keep our community informed.
Summer 2020
We are currently exploring our options for the 2020 summer. While we do not yet know what the summer session will look like there will be some type of summer program available. Those who are interested can submit an online application for Cricket Camp or Kookaburra Camp from the CMS website. At this time we will accept your application in good faith without deposit for summer camp. As we get closer to summer we will send updates regarding summer camp.
2020-2021 Enrollment
We are planning for various scenarios. CMS would love to be able to start the 2020-2021 school year as planned on August 17th. Re-enrollment is available through your RenWeb portal, many of you have already completed your re-enrollment packets and those who have not still have time to submit their packet online and secure their spot for next year.
Those who have submitted their re-enrollment packets will be receiving an email from Jose Bolanos in early May with the deposit information for your 2020-2021 school year. If you have any questions about enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year please reach out, we are all here to help.
Cheers,
The CMS Family
