CMS 22nd Annual Auction – Goes Online!
The school year is flying by and our 22nd Annual Auction is right around the corner. This year, the event will take place entirely online – making it very convenient to bid right from your phone! We will be utilizing Silent Auction Pro to host the event that will take place Saturday, May 15. Bidding starts at 10am and will close at 10pm. Registration will begin next week, which will also give you a chance to preview a few items!
From Disney tickets, one of a kind children’s art projects, teacher experiences to beautiful classroom sponsored baskets, there is something for everyone! To create those one-of-a-kind baskets, we are asking families to make a contribution to their child’s classroom basket. All of your generous donations will be used to create themed baskets! Each classroom has a different theme for their basket.
Classroom Basket Themes:
- Dragonflies – Game Night (Adult & Children’s Games)
- Ladybugs – Gardening
- Bumblebees – Beach Day
- Eagles 1 – Family Night / Movie Night
- Eagles 2 & 3 – Sweet Treats Baking Night
- Owls – Adventure (Fishing/ Camping/ Hiking)
Our goal is to collect enough donations to create 1-3 classroom baskets for each of the themes. All donations for the classroom basket or other donations can be dropped off in the office or with your classroom teacher. We thank you in advance for all the support to make our final fundraiser of the year a success! Please turn in all donations by Wednesday, May 5th!
In addition, if you are out in the community and have an opportunity to ask for an auction donation, please do! Many local businesses support local fundraisers for non-profit organizations such as CMS in the communities they serve. Please let Susan at susank@countrymontessori.org know if you need supporting documentation!
Welcome to our new Music Instructor
Adam Meyerowitz has joined the CMS teaching staff and just finished his first week of classes! Adam is a current CMS parent and has two daughters Hana and Sophia in the Dragonfly and Eagles classroom. He would often do special line time presentations in the Dragonfly classroom with musical instruments and was an immediate success with the students. Adam is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese, has a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts from UCLA. Mr. Meyer as the students call him, has an interest and talent in multiple areas of music, has a warm demeanor and is a natural with children. He met with Mr. Short and went over our curriculum and shadowed him prior to Mr. Shorts last day. We are very excited and pleased to have Adam on staff and taking on the role of the music instructor.
5th Level and Kindergarten Graduation
CMS will be hosting 5th level and kindergarten graduation ceremonies onsite this school year on June 15th. We will be following the California Department of Public Health guidance for Commencement/Graduation Ceremonies. Specific information about the day will be shared in the near future as finalizations are complete.
We truly appreciate our families for your support and partnership and working with us as a team!
It is imperative to keep an open dialogue with us regarding illnesses and travel. We are all in this together and want to keep our students, families, staff and school healthy to the extent possible. Please let us know if you plan to travel or if anyone in your household has been exposed to, has COVID or has symptoms.
Please notify the office if your student will not be in class or is sick. Should your child be sick all families need to inform the office and we will provide further mandated guidance. When our students are sick we want them to rest so virtual class is not permitted during illnesses.
