Grandparent’s Day!
We’re so excited to welcome our wonderful grandparents for a very special event, Grandparent’s Day at CMS! This is a heartwarming time just for them, where they’ll get to visit their grandchild’s classroom and celebrate all the amazing things they’ve been learning and doing.
Our team will be ready to help with parking and guide grandparents to the right classrooms. To help teachers prepare, please RSVP directly to your child’s classroom teacher.
We kindly ask that grandparents arrive no earlier than 3:10 PM so we can finish our regular dismissal smoothly. Also, please remember not to park in any of the medical parking lots, as the school is not permitted to use those spaces.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out, we’re happy to help!

This is our last fundraiser of the year, and it is rapidly approaching. All funds raised will be invested in the CMS Campus! This summer, we will be updating the fencing around the school’s perimeter, refining our playgrounds, and enhancing outdoor security.
Classroom Basket Donations
Each year, the Classroom Baskets campaign promotes a fun and easy way for families to get involved by helping support the CMS community. We have a couple of new classroom categories to go with our Superhero theme this year. All donations will be used to create themed baskets, which will be auctioned at the event. Each classroom has a different theme for its basket:
Dragonflies – Paws, Claws & Tiny Yawns
Ladybugs – Power Up Your Creativity: Crafts & Kits
Bumblebees – Super Splashdown: Pool & Beach Fun
Eagles – Dinner, Dice & Superheroes Unite
Owls – Play, Explore, Travel: The Adventure Collection
All donations for the classroom basket can be dropped off in the office or with your classroom teacher. Please put your name on the item donated so we can keep track of all our wonderful family donors. This flyer will give you more information about the donations and the auction.
Community Outreach
If you are out in the community and have an opportunity to ask for an auction donation, please do! Many local businesses support local fundraisers for non-profit organizations such as CMS! We have reached out to hundreds of San Diego companies, museums, and attractions to acquire a donation. However, this event takes a community to create. If you have relationships with local businesses (or where you work), please ask for a donation. Please see this letter you can use that includes our 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Tax ID #. If you need copies, please let Susan know!
**We are looking for amazing experiences & items to offer at the auction. If you own a timeshare or know someone who could donate, please let me know!
Please turn in all donations by May 7th!
If you have any questions, please let Susan know. We appreciate your support!

The Importance of Punctuality in Early Childhood Program
Punctual arrival at school is essential, particularly at Country Montessori School (CMS), where we emphasize that CMS is a school, not a drop-in daycare facility. In Early Childhood, establishing a routine, greeting peers, and engaging with the morning schedule are developmentally crucial practices. These foundational elements help young children build social skills, independence, and familiarity with structure, all of which contribute to a successful academic experience. Furthermore, arriving on time minimizes disruptions, fosters responsibility, promotes a strong work ethic, and ensures that students receive essential information at the beginning of the day. In the long term, punctuality instills respect for teachers and peers and prepares students for future professional expectations where timeliness is paramount.
Class begins promptly at 8:30a.m., with arrivals scheduled between 8:15 and 8:30a.m. To ensure a smooth start, please make sure students are in their classrooms by 8:30; we want to avoid arriving in the parking lot at that time. If you arrive after 8:30a.m., we ask that you kindly park and wait with your child; a staff member will escort late students to class. We appreciate your support and cooperation in helping us create a productive beginning to each day! Thank you!
