Welcome back to a New Year! The children were excited to be back in class and begin to work. We had several new children start in Dragonflies last month; it was a great addition to our classroom. For the month of January we were busy studying Chinese New Year, which is the year of the Dragon. The children were excited to make Chinese lanterns and take part in a little treat.
For the month of January we studied:
• Asia
• Planets
• Chinese New Year
• Grace and Courtesy
We are excited to be entering the month of February. In this month we will be decorating boxes to hold the valentine cards the children will be exchanging. Please remember to send a shoebox in, wrapped with white paper and an opening cut into the top. We prefer that the box be an adult size box they are the best to fit 36 valentines in. For this month we will be studying:
• Grace and Courtesy
• Valentines Day
• Mammals
• Australia
Thank you to all who donate flowers for our flower arranging exercises, shop for practical life food, do our laundry and bring in snacks and crafts for the holiday celebrations. If you would like to make a presentation on some of your travels or a cultural event please contact the Directresses to schedule a time to do your presentation.
Lunch Ideas:
If your child gets pizza, corn dogs, hot dogs or grill cheese sandwiches, please check with your child to see if it is not enough food. Please pack them some extras sides such as: fruit, vegetables, yogurt or cheese.
